Battle
Renmazuo's abilities are pretty much the same as Billy's. It has good Ether and Ether defense attributes, and is actually pretty fast. It also uses the same weapons system. The handgun can be upgraded, while the other two guns can't, and the square button attack fires Ether bullets as well. Some people argue that Renmazuo isn't a very good Gear, but I personally think it can hold its own with the rest of them, especially if you gear it for the "square button strategy."
To best utilize Renmazuo... well, as with any other Gear, response is always important. If you equip items that increase response, your Gears can dodge attacks much more often, and that means less HP and fuel consumption. If you want to get the most use out of Renmazuo's square button attack (the Ether guns), equip as many Power Magics as you can and load Billy up with an Ether Doubler and any other Ether-increasing accessories you have. With this configuration, Renmazuo can easily do more damage than most deathblows with a single button press, instantly making it one of the most powerful Gears (perhaps the most powerful aside from Xenogears). The only downside is if your opponent absorbs Ether, but as with character battles, I didn't find that happening enough to affect me at all.
Notes
Just some random stuff I want to put here.
It's been debated over which Anima Relic aligned with Renmazuo. After reading anything I could find about it, my opinion is that it was Joseph. Why? Well, first of all, it was narrowed down to three choices by process of elimination.
Okay, let me try to break this down. There are 12 Anima Relics, each being aligned with a specific person/Gear. Asher was aligned with Citan, presumably during his time in Solaris. Zebulun went to Ramsus, Judah to Krelian, Naphtali to Grahf, and Dinah to Sophia. Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Issacher were aligned 500 years ago, although the game never mentioned to whom. Billy and Rico also obviously were aligned with an Anima Relic, and apparently Bart is the third land dweller to be aligned with one. (Although I thought it was aligned to his ancestor... apparently this can happen more than once.)
Anyway... the three Anima Relics aligned to a "surface dweller" during the game were Dan, Joseph and Gad. Reading about the connections between those three names and biblical references, I think that Joseph has the closest relation to Billy and his situation. Basically, Joseph's family turned against him and sold him to the Egyptians (long known as the enemy of the Israelites). Joseph eventually rose to power within the Egyptian hierarchy because of his special skills, and eventually he was reunited with his family. In my opinion, that bears some similarity to the fact that Billy was abandoned by his father early on, joined up with the Ethos (and in effect, Solaris), but eventually was able to reconcile with Jessie later on.
Note: I came across a website that definitely aligned Billy with Joseph, but I don't know if it was hard fact or just speculation. I think I'll leave this up all the same, since I thought I was super cool for coming up with it on my own!
